Using TalkBox forms

TalkBox forms allow you to add new contacts to your account, update existing contacts with new details or collect additional details from existing contacts. Forms can be added to your website, used in your venue on a device, or linked in a communication.

Navigate to: Tools > Forms

There are three types of forms available in TalkBox. These are:

  • Hosted forms
  • Embedded forms
  • Signup button

This article provides an overview of the functionality and uses of each form type.

Hosted Forms

Hosted forms are forms which are designed as a stand-alone web page. When you build your hosted form in TalkBox you will have a URL which you can use as a link on your website, in a browser on a mobile device, or linked from a communication.

Hosted forms can be restricted to allow only new contacts or can accept all contacts. Contacts who submit the form can be tagged or sent a variety of communications. Additionally, you can configure hosted forms to send you a notification email when the form is completed.

Hosted forms allow the use of a notification email field which means the information submitted in this field will be included in the notification email to you but won’t be saved with the contact in TalkBox.

Embedded Forms

Embedded forms are forms which are designed to be embedded in your website and cannot exist as a stand-alone web page. When you build your embedded form in TalkBox you will have a snippet of code which can be added to your website code.

Just like hosted forms, embedded forms can be restricted to allow only new contacts or can accept all contacts. Contacts who submit the form can be tagged or sent a variety of communications. Additionally, you can configure hosted forms to send you a notification email when the form is completed. Likewise, embedded forms also allow the use of a notification email field.

Signup Button

The signup button is a simple form which can be added to your website. It will display as a button and when clicked will launch a popup with the form. Like embedded forms the signup button cannot exist as a stand-alone web page. When you customise your signup button in TalkBox you will have a snippet of code which can be added to your website code.

The signup button does not have the same options that hosted or embedded forms have. The fields in the form are pre-set and a confirmation message will be displayed when the form is submitted.
