Creating an SPF record

Sender Policy Framework (known as SPF) is an authentication protocol that allows you to define who is authorised to send emails using your company’s domain (such as www.yourcompany.com).

If your domain does not have a strict DMARC policy, it is not required to add an SPF record for TalkBox. Not sure? Find out more about SPF, DKIM and DMARC

How to create an SPF record for TalkBox

Adding an SPF record is a straightforward process and can be done by the administrator of your domain. This is likely to be the person who looks after your website. To setup the SPF record copy the text in the block below and send it to your domain administrator.

v=spf1 include:talkbox.email ~all

Once this is done you can use any SPF check website to confirm that TalkBox has been correctly added to your domain. If it has you will see a result like below:

Technical Detail

Record type: TXT

Hostname: will either be blank or a subdomain. For example: if your email sender is hello@yourcompany.com, this uses the root domain, so the hostname would be (blank).yourcompany.com. If it was hello@news.yourcompany.com, the hostname news.yourcompany.com.

Value: “v=spf1 include:talkbox.email ~all”

TTL: Either 3600 or 14400 are common.
