Community Campaigns to help you through COVID-19

The Impact Data team have been working with a number of partners and ideas that are all aimed at keeping the hospitality industry afloat and showcasing community campaigns that can keep customers engaged.  Some of these organisations are there to assist your business and your staff and some are aimed at getting the community behind your business.

Here’s some we have come across and are supporting however we can.  If you are aware of other great ideas then let us know at hello@impactdata.com.au

Save Pub Life
A great initiative to help pubs survive during this crisis from Budweiser Brewing Group.  You spend £20 and your favourite local gets £40. This money helps your pub now and you have money to spend when restrictions ease.  If your venue is participating, talk to our team about how we can get your customers and members involved.

Pubs have long been at the centre of our community and now they are able to offer other services to maintain that position.  Mypubshop is a not for profit click & collect platform enabling pubs, local shops and stores to sell essential food and drink to their local community.  Supported by some of the biggest industry players including Admiral Taverns, Greene King and Coca-Cola.  There is a small transaction fee and any surplus revenue is donated directly to the NHS.

Hospitality Action
Established in 1837 to support hospitality people in the UK by providing employee assistance, emergency grants and more.  They are calling for donations to help UK staff and are also supporting www.caterer.com who are helping redeploy hospitality staff into other jobs.

The Drinks Trust
Formerly known as The Benevolent, this organisation has been supporting, caring and providing assistance for the drinks industry since 1886.  Support includes vocational training, well-being, financial and practical support.

We are Tipjar
A new peer tip ecosystem to change the way that workers who have been tipped can receive and manage the funds.  During this crisis, they have launched the Hospitality Workers Emergency Fund where 100% of donations will go directly to hospitality workers.

Delivered in partnership with Think Hospitality and Flow Hospitality , HospoLive is a TV Channel designed to connect, upskill and inspire hospitality workers during the lockdown.

Save the music by Jacks a crowdfunder campaign.
Each evening a musician takes over the Jacks Facebook page and live-streams an après gig, it has been rightly named ‘the Confinement Sessions’. Viewers have been joining the stream from France, the UK, Australia, America and many more countries. The Confinement Sessions have become a daily dose of social activity, at a distance, and something that viewers and musicians alike look forward to. To help support the musicians, viewers can donate via the crowdfunder page.

Some of the other great ideas that we have seen include:

  • Paying for a meal for front line health care staff – a pub close to a local hospital asked its customers to buy a meal for the front line hospital staff that they then delivered
  • Feed NHS – a not for profit set up by comedian Matt Lucas is aimed at raising money to help feed the front line NHS staff.  To read more click here
  • Help Musicians Survive is a Crowdfunder campaign from Jacks Meribel, one of the premier apres bar in the alps.  This is their campaign to fund ‘The Confinement Sessions’ where an entertainer takes over the Jacks Facebook page and streams live gigs.

If you have come across another great community campaign let us know so we can share it. get in touch at hello@impactdata.co.uk
