Your loyalty system most likely contains a historical record of members past and present, active and inactive. If this system is integrated with your TalkBox account, all of these members become TalkBox contacts, too.
To send communications specifically to your current/active members (and not to your inactive, lapsed or deceased members, for example), you can create a segment for them in TalkBox.
1. From the TalkBox dashboard head to 'Contacts', then 'Segments'.
2. The next step varies for each loyalty provider; scroll down to find the example that applies to your system. Then click on 'Create Segment'.
3. Once you've created your segment, send your communication. When you get to the 'Select recipients' stage, click the button for 'A segment' and select the segment you've just created.
Select 'Membership Status' / 'is any of' and then select the relevant fields.
