Most member management systems identify members with multiple ID numbers, such as:
- member number
- loyalty number
- player number
- card number
- badge number
If you’re using TalkBox in mirror mode it's important to know which one is your system’s unique identifier ('external ID') in TalkBox.
This article covers two methods for finding out which ID type is being imported into TalkBox from your membership management system.
Method 1: cross-reference your system with TalkBox
The most reliable way to check which membership-system ID is being used as your TalkBox external ID is to compare the data in both systems.
Select a contact to compare in both TalkBox and your membership system.
In TalkBox go to Contacts and select any contact to check. Once their profile loads you'll see the external ID in the first field.
Search for this same member in your member management system and check that the member’s details match. Take note of which field matches the TalkBox external ID field.
Method 2: contact our support team
If you’re unable to locate an ID in your membership system that matches the TalkBox external ID, please contact our support team.
We will check the field name of the ID in the data being sent to us from your membership system. You will be able to use this to help find the ID in your system.
If you’re still unable to find the matching ID in your system, please contact your membership-system support team for advice.
