Every so often, it's beneficial to encourage your subscribers to update their details with you. Update Details Campaigns are a great way of ensuring that your subscribers are still engaged, so you know that you are sending them relevant and meaningful communications.
Update Details Campaigns have two prerequisites: database fields and a web form.
Database Fields
Navigation: Contacts > Fields
- Create the fields you want your customers to fill in, if they aren't already there.
Update Details Form
Navigation: Tools > Forms > Hosted Forms
- Create a hosted form. Please refer to ‘Creating a Webform’ for more information.
- Ensure you select ‘Add or update contacts’ in the form settings.
You may wish to create a form message(an email/SMS sent to the customer automatically when they submit the form) with a reward for people who update their details, such as a discount at your store. Remember to tag people who fill out this form - it'll mean you can track who has filled out the form, and send follow up communications if you wish.

- Copy the form's URL (web address) when the form is complete.
- Navigate to ‘Form Settings’, under ‘Link to this form’, or utilise ‘Get the Link’ when reviewing your list of Hosted Forms.
Update Details Communication
Navigation: Communicate > Send
Now you are ready to create your Update Details communication, where you invite your subscribers to update their details with you.
- Create a communication following the standard process.
- Use the URL (web address) for your Update Details Form to either:
a) create a hyperlink within a text block, or
b) drag a Button block into your layout and select your ‘Update Details’ web form from ‘Link to Form’ under the Button options.
If using the latter, you also have the option of turning on ‘Fill in contact's details’. This means that when a recipient clicks the button to fill out the form, it will automatically populate with their TalkBox contact details.
- Complete your communication following the standard process.
