Once I have scheduled my email, why does it mention that the total recipient count could change?

This is notifying you that the count may change if contacts are uploaded into your account prior to the send. Contacts could be uploaded through public registration, single or bulk registration which will alter the recipient count should they meet the criteria for the scheduled email.
